Water Softener

The Water Softener is the most common kind of water treatment used in homes. It removes minerals from hard water that can cause scale buildup, and leaves behind softened water which is gentle on skin and hair. The softener works by passing tap water through resin beds that are impregnated with sodium chloride. When the resin bed becomes saturated with minerals such as calcium and magnesium these minerals are flushed out by salt solutions called brine. Then the process begins again and the softened water is ready for use.
